Art speaks by provoking experiences.
Art experiences are thereby images for possible experiences beyond art. Spoken in a different rhetoric: Art experiences are models for experiences beyond art. Accordingly, the aesthetic experience of value stands for experiences of value in life, for what is existentially significant. The transformative, utopian potential of art is also rooted in a "speaking" with value experiences.
Together with Friedrich Hausen, we are working on a concept of movement coherence with a view to aesthetic forms, which can be transferred analogously to music: In early music in particular, musical coherence is often produced less by motivic and harmonic coherence than by the organisation of tension and relaxation, and interrelationships of impulse and effect. The coherence of musical movement carries, among other things, expressivity, beauty and essential aspects of large-scale formal unity. This perspective can also be applied to the analysis and interpretation of many works of new music.
For AuditivVokal Dresden, questions about a new image of man are currently in the foreground. How can - after the testimonies of the inhuman in the 20th century and in view of the climate crisis and the exploitative conditions in the 21st century - an empathetic, life- and human-friendly perspective be adhered to? What do the major technological changes mean for our way of life? And how do corresponding perspectives and considerations find a suitable musical expression? AuditivVokal Dresden and Friedrich Hausen have been developing various event formats on these questions since May 2020.
